The Rothen Group has extensive experience in carrying out all types of contracting and civil engineering on inland waterways across the country. Our advice and approach will be pragmatic and result in the best solution for your specific project, whether it be bank protection, dredging, marina works or waterway restoration on canals, rivers or lakes.
Our bank protection experience includes both hard and soft bank protection. We have undertaken a range of piling contracts (hard bank protection) where we consider both depth and marine conditions as well as usage and wear/damage. This will ensure the sheet piling is suited to the site and your needs. Knowledge of which piles or bank stabilisation technique to use for each site can save you considerable sums and we are confident in assessing whether steel sheet piles, timber piles, plastic piles, nicospan (soft bank protection) or even gabion baskets are appropriate.
Dredging and reed/weed clearance projects often involve difficult access sites. Our proactive, knowledge based approach ensures even the difficult spot dredging of moorings, winding holes, bridges, disused canal arms, attenuation features or lakes can be undertaken. Whether it be bulrushes, reeds or aquatic weeds or silt we have the experience to remove it efficiently.
We have comprehensive knowledge as marine contractors in constructing new moorings for both private and corporate clients. Whether at the bottom of your garden or within a large, existing marina we are able to advice and deliver the best solution for your moorings needs.
The ongoing maintenance and upkeep of marinas is challenging. The Rothen Group has a broad experience in this maintenance from dredging silt from individual bays to constructing jettys, timber walkways or bridges.
We are also able to offer ecology services through our sister company Rothen Ecology.
