JOB DESCRIPTION
Delivery Operative
Love working outdoors? Enjoy variety in your working day? We are looking for someone to join our team and are currently recruiting a delivery operative.
This role is exciting and diverse with good prospects for further training and personal development. The right person would be able to load and deliver plant and construction materials across the country with vans & trailers or accompanying hauliers. You would be working as part of a team undertaking works on the canals or working alone. Other basic roles will be required to be undertaken, such as using telehandlers to put away and offload materials, tidying the yard etc. Having machine operating and construction experience would also be advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience
This is a physical role and will be predominantly outdoors, and so it’s important that you enjoy all weathers. It is important that you are comfortable in dealing with the public and are a team player. Good communication and a ‘can do’ attitude are essential. You must also have a pragmatic work approach.
Responsibilities:
Assisting site to carry out works productively in a safe manner
Use technology to communicate with the office regarding jobs and workload
Moving materials by hand and/or mechanised equipment
Loading materials and delivering them to sites
Representing our company whilst interacting with clients, visitors to the canal and volunteer groups
Essential:
Construction background
Towing experience
Telehandler experience
Must have a valid UK driving licence
Desirable:
Able to drive and operate equipment such as a forklift, telescopic handler, tracked digger and tracked dumper (NPORS/NVQ/CPCS)
Slinger/Banksman
CAT BE on driving licence
CSCS Card
Salary depending on experience.
Full time working hours 7am-5pm approximately. Some additional hours will be required on a regular basis.
Overtime may be available including weekends
