Mechanic
Job Purpose
Love working on engines & hands on with mechanics? Enjoy variety in your working day? We are looking for someone to join our workshop team and therefore are currently recruiting a marine boat fitters role to work from our HQ in Mancetter, Atherstone.
Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience
This is a physical role and will be based in our workshop, at our head office yard & workshop.
This role will require a good understanding of diesel combustion engines, electrical systems; 12, 24 & 240V, hydraulic systems. We are looking for you to be able to strip out an existing engine and then fit from start to finish a new marinized engine.
It is important that you are comfortable managing your own time and being in charge of your own project.
Good communication and a strong ‘can do’ attitude is essential. You must also have a pragmatic work approach.
Responsibilities:
Manage time to ensure smooth flow of projects and deadlines are met
Fully marinise engines ahead of installing in boats
Quality workmanship and excellent attention to detail
Ordering of materials/parts in a timely manner
Timely & accurate completion of paperwork
Proactive consideration for maintaining H&S & quality standards
Essential:
Must have a valid UK driving license as you will be expected to drive company vehicles from time to time
Must be able to use a smart phone & software apps
Knowledge of marinised engines
Beta and Barrius marine engines & electrics
Desirable:
Agricultural/construction engineering experience
Mechanical engineering qualification
First Aid trained
Welding/fabrication experience
Salary depending on experience.
Van & tools will be provided. – Russ is querying the need of a van? And tools, he would prefer them to have their own?
Full time working hours, 7am - 5pm.
Overtime may be available including weekends.
