The wide-beam digger pontoon is our largest and most robust floating platform. Designed to carry machines up to 8 tonnes, it’s ideal for intensive canal and river operations. With its side-mounted stability tanks in place, the platform offers a safe and stable deck for digging operations.

INFORMATION SHEETS
The platform is 17ft 6 in in width (with tanks), making it less manoeuvrable than other platforms. However, remove the tanks, and the pontoon narrows to 13ft 6in wide, allowing it to pass through most wide locks while still supporting machines up to 6.5 tonnes. This allows you to load machinery onto the pontoon and transport it to remote sections of the canal or river network.
Once you’ve reached the site, its four hydraulic jack legs can anchor the platform against the ground, creating an extremely stable base for dredging, piling, or towpath maintenance.
The modular design, broken into three 3-tonne sections, ensures easy transport via a Hiab lorry. The pontoon can also be rotated 90 degrees to allow tracked machines to embark or disembark. Whatever your project, the wide beam digger pontoon is a highly versatile, practical, and reliable platform for maintenance and restoration operations.
