Product Description
Standard hoppers often struggle in narrow, overgrown, or heavily silted canals – they just can’t get through. That’s where our shallow-drafted hoppers come in. With an empty draft as low as 100mm, these lightweight, narrow-beam vessels are perfect for transporting materials through the most restricted parts of the waterway network.

INFORMATION SHEETS
We understand the difficulty of carrying out maintenance or restoration work in the narrowest sections of canals or rivers. Despite their compact build, the hoppers are designed to carry up to 6 tonnes of silt, spoil, stone or vegetation. Ideal for projects where both space and water depth are limited, they’re a go-to option for dredging support, vegetation clearance, bank protection, or towpath repairs in challenging environments.
Our shallow-drafted hoppers come in tanked and untanked models, depending on whether you're moving liquid or solid material. With multiple hold lengths available, we can match the right vessel to your load volume and site constraints.
The biggest issue is getting the vessel to and from the site. All units are Hiab-transportable. Just load up the lorry, transport it to the site, and deploy quickly with minimal disruption. It’s a time-saving, cost-efficient deployment option.
Whether used solo or in tandem with powered tugs and workboats, this narrow-beam transport barge is a reliable, low-impact solution for shallow, sensitive, or hard-to-access sites.
