CONTRACTS MANAGER

Job Purpose

<p class="font_8">The ideal candidate will be a Contracts Manager, or experienced Project Manager looking to take the next step. Candidates must have strong experience in the self-delivery of civils schemes. Reporting to the Directors you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of contracting projects and managing the delivery team that includes Project Managers &amp; Delivery executives. You will be expected to manage your team and manage your own time to make provision for regular site visits, and attending meetings as required.</p>

Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience

Reporting to the Directors you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of contracting projects and managing the delivery team that includes Project Managers &amp; Delivery executives. You will be expected to manage your team and manage your own time to make provision for regular site visits, and attending meetings as required.</p>

Responsibilities

  • Management of your delivery team to ensure all projects are run safely & smoothly to time and budget

  • Final sign off for all RAMs and documents that leave the office for the site teams

  • Pre construction activities such as early contractor involvement, tender programmes and value engineering

  • Responsibility for the programme, cost, and value of your live projects

  • Liaising with the client to ensure projects run smoothly, and relationships are maintained

  • Administering the NEC contract. Raising contractual notices such as Early Warnings and Notification of Compensation Events

  • Updating the construction programme to show progress and to demonstrate change

  • Monitoring and managing the health and safety compliance of the project

  • Managing and supporting the Site Managers, Engineers and Supervisors on your projects

  • Working alongside the SHEQ to co-ordinate the temporary works, and planning safety critical activities, e.g. crane lifts, floating plant, piling, pressure testing

Desirable

Essential

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project

  • Experience of interesting or unusual temporary works and access solution

  • Appointed person

Summary

Salary £60,000K (pro rata) - depending on experience

Full time working hours, 7am - 5pm

Overtime may be available including weekends
